Safety Advisory from Hauliers: Mandatory Use of Trailer Jack Stand / Front Trailer Support During Stuffing & Un-stuffing Operations

Dear Valued Customers,

Kindly be informed that all hauliers would like to remind customers of the importance of ensuring that trailers are properly supported during stuffing and un-stuffing operations.

To prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, cargo, and facilities, every trailer must be adequately supported by a trailer jack stand, landing gear support, or other suitable front support device before any stuffing or un-stuffing activity begins.

Failure to provide proper front support can cause the trailer to become unstable, potentially leading to trailer collapse, overturning, equipment damage, cargo damage, operational disruptions, or serious injuries.

The attached picture illustrates examples of safe and unsafe practices and highlight the potential consequences of stuffing or un-stuffing a trailer without adequate front support.

Mandatory Safety Requirements

✅ Ensure the trailer is supported with an approved jack stand, landing gear support, or other suitable supporting equipment before stuffing or un-stuffing.

✅ Verify that the supporting equipment is in good condition and capable of safely bearing the trailer's weight.

✅ Do not commence stuffing or un-stuffing operations if adequate trailer front support is not provided.

✅ Ensure trailer brakes are engaged, wheel chocks are installed where required, and trailer stability is verified before work begins.

✅ Maintain a safe working environment throughout the stuffing and un-stuffing process.

In the event of an incident caused by the absence of proper trailer support, all costs incurred, including but not limited to the following shall be fully borne by the customer.

✅Trailer repair costs;

✅Crane hiring charges for recovery;

✅Recovery and towing expenses;

✅Any other related damages or operational losses,

Your cooperation in complying with this safety requirement is highly appreciated and will help prevent accidents, protect personnel, and avoid unnecessary operational delays.
